I just started this website a few days ago and I’m already compelled to create a category or topic called “Moron of the Day.” Martin Bashir could win this today with his apology video. He apologized to all of us for his comments on air asking someone to shit in Sarah Palin’s mouth. I get it, he was referencing a diary passage, but he still wanted someone to shit in her mouth. Bashir is notorious for not using facts, but instead marginalizing and calling someone names. Now yes, his comments are offensive, but here’s what I find more offensive: Bashir and his ilk at MSNBC continue to suck and yet MSNBC continues to employ them.
Ever work in an office environment where there’s that one person that really sucks and yet they continue to get praise and promotion? Come on, admit it. You’ve worked with someone like this. The person you consider the most unimpressive person in history and yet they keep moving up the ladder as though they have naked pictures of your CEO. Now imagine a whole office filled with people like that. Can you visualize this? Well my friend, you’ve painted a mental picture of MSNBC. How do I know this? I look at their ratings. The 3Q13 ratings came out in October and Fox News was #1 overall and, on most days, delivers more viewers than MSNBC and CNN combined. Fox News was the 7th most viewed network on cable and MSNBC and CNN didn’t even crack the top 30.
So why do you think their ratings are in the toilet? I’ll offer my opinion. Many are starting to realize MSNBC is looking more like an Obama aide than a news organization. Things like Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, NSA spying, and Obamacare can’t simply be dismissed as non-issues anymore as MSNBC has done. This leads to a breakdown in trust and thus a decline in ratings.
What’s worse is that MSNBC puts its trust in these reporters instead of hiring the right people to pitch their progressive agenda. They’ve decided these unimpressive employees are the ones they should keep and you’re left standing there wondering why. Just like you do everyday with that one person in your office.
Here is Mr. Bashir’s lovely apology. It’s always fun watching someone eat the same shit they cooked up for someone else.
