In what can only be called more of his lunacy, Harry Reid’s main priority when back in Senate is restricting your freedom of speech. Not immigration reform. Not ISIS. Not the government spying on its own citizens. Not the Israeli/Palestinian war. Not our failing economy. Not our terrible international relations and foreign policies. But I think Harry Reid is right. I mean, what’s more dangerous than a back talking electorate?!?! Don’t the citizens of the United States know that Politicians are our leaders and know better? It’s their jobs to interrupt every aspect of our lives. To tell us what to do at every step.
That brings me to this: You know how liberals are blaming the Republican House on nothing getting done? Well, there’s actually an explanation. First of all, 733 measures have been passed in the House. Wait, what? I thought they haven’t been doing anything. I thought those idiot Tea Party people have been obstructing everything. Nope. Of that, 342 bills are still sitting in the Senate. What does this mean? It means Harry Reid is sitting on these bills and not willing to bring them to a vote. So he delays legislation from receiving a vote all while saying Congress is stuck and inept. What he’s really saying is that he’s inept…
So when one of your liberal friends talks about the House obstructing, be sure to bring this up. Bring up the fact that Harry Reid is doing Obama’s bidding by making it look as though the Republicans in the House don’t have a plan for anything. When it comes to immigration, The House has passed two measures to address the influx of illegal child immigrants. Obama labeled these as “extreme and unworkable.” What did these bills do? They expedited the deportation of these kids to get them back to their parents and out of the extreme conditions that they are currently found to be living in and out of the bureaucratic limbo that Obama has put them in. Nothing says a great life like this picture:
Want to know how much this “free” education costs? In the state of NY alone, it is going to cost the state $147M. Here is what inaction is costing the American people just with the influx of illegal immigrant children:
In 2010 alone, it was estimated that illegal aliens, many of whom don’t pay income taxes, cost the United States $113,000,000,000. Just to give you some perspective, if we wanted to insure the 30M people that were estimated to not have insurance in the United States, it would have cost $144B. Yes, that’s right. For the cost of taking care of these criminals and providing them public services, we could have insured those that didn’t have healthcare. Or come close to it.
So when someone is telling you that we have a broken immigration system, what are they really telling you? Aren’t they only advocating for open boarders and amnesty? Won’t amnesty only encourage more to break the law? Don’t we already have laws in the books to address illegal immigration? Isn’t it a violation of the law to come to this country without permission? So what’s the reform that’s needed? I would offer that we need better border security and that we need to enforce the laws that we already have. In a country that’s in demand, why can’t we decide who we want in this country? Can’t we say no to criminals and those that have nothing to offer? How about allowing those that are educated into this country? Oh yeah, that’s actually what we are doing already in our immigration system. And this is what’s broken?
Why is there a sudden influx of illegal aliens and children? Isn’t it because there is talk of amnesty? Get in the country quick so that you’re included in the list of those that get citizenship. It’s common sense people. Think about it. Obama has hinted at Executive Action on immigration “reform” (read: amnesty). If Obama is the quarterback, Harry Reid is the blocker. Literally and figuratively. Harry Reid is responsible for our immigration problem.
