Obama announced today that he’s fed up, mad, and won’t tolerate the VA scandal…same words used for Fast and Furious, IRS, AP Reporters being targeted, and Benghazi. He also used another one of his key words to feign anger: Accountability. He uttered repeatedly that he was going to hold someone accountable. Based on his track record, I’m not sure we can believe anyone will be held accountable. Louis Lerner wasn’t fired. Kathleen Sebelius wasn’t fired. Eric Holder wasn’t fired. All were involved in scandals. All of them did questionable if not illegal things. All of them were incompetent. And all of them kept their jobs.
That said, let’s listen to the words he uttered regarding all these “fake” scandals. Cue stupidity:
Fast and Furious
10/18/2011 Obama addresses Fast and Furious scandal: “It’s very upsetting to me to think that somebody showed such bad judgment that they would allow something like that to happen,” Obama told ABC during a stop in his three-day bus tour of North Carolina and Virginia. “And we will find out who and what happened in this situation and make sure it gets corrected.”
Did he find out or did he just obstruct the investigation by invoking Executive Privilege?
5/13/13 Obama addresses IRS scandal: “This is pretty straightforward,” said Obama. “If, in fact, IRS personnel engaged in the kind of practices that have been reported on and were intentionally targeting conservative groups, then that is outrageous, and there is no place for it, and they have to be held fully accountable, because the IRS as an independent agency requires absolute integrity and people have to have confidence that they are applying the laws in a non-partisan way. You should feel that way regardless of party.”
“But I have got no patience with it, I will not tolerate it, and we will make sure that we find out exactly what happened on this,” he added.
2/2/14 Obama re-addresses the scandal: “There were some boneheaded decisions,” Obama said, but insisted corruption did not play a role in the decision-making processes.
“Not even a smidgen of corruption,” he said.
5/23/13 Obama on reporters being targeted by his Administration: “As Commander-in Chief, I believe we must keep information secret that protects our operations and our people in the field. To do so, we must enforce consequences for those who break the law and breach their commitment to protect classified information,” Obama said. “But a free press is also essential for our democracy. That’s who we are, and I’m troubled by the possibility that leak investigations may chill the investigative journalism that holds government accountable.
“Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs. Our focus must be on those who break the law,” he said.
There is a problem with this: It was his Administration that ordered the targeting and did the targeting. So what does he do? He assigns the same department responsible for attacking the press to investigate the issue. You can commence shaking your head here.
10/26/2012 Obama on the Benghazi scandal: “What happened in Benghazi is a tragedy. We’re investigating exactly what happened. I take full responsibility for that fact. I send these folks in harm’s way, I want to make sure they’re always safe and when that doesn’t happen, that we figure out what happened and make sure that doesn’t happen again. But my biggest priority now is bringing those folks to justice and I think the American people have seen that’s a commitment I’ll always keep.”
Glad we got those bad guys…Oh, wait. We didn’t. But CNN and the AP found these guys. Don’t even get me started on the reason they attacked the consulate in Benghazi. They went there to steal the weapons we were buying back from Libyan rebels. Yes, we were giving them weapons to rebels so they could fight Gaddafi. We then went in there to buy them back. Cue terrorists seeing a chance to get weapons.
We know what will happen with the VA Scandal because we know what’s happened with all of the other scandals. In a few months, the VA scandal will just be another fake scandal. His Administration will provide millions of pages of documents on it and hide the few emails and documents that are actually needed (those come out after Freedom of Information Act law suits expose them). He will then say that they’ve cooperated fully and that this issue is closed and just another partisan attempt by the GOP to bring him down.
What we’ve found with many of this man’s scandals is that he always says we need to wait for the investigation to run its course. But did he do that with the Trayvon case or the Beer Summit? The answer is no…before investigations and the facts could come out, Obama was sure to capitalize on the divisive issue of race and immediately pass judgement. So why does he need to wait to pass judgement on the VA scandal? Isn’t it obvious that all of these events are scandals?
So what are your thoughts on what the next scandal will be? I bet it’s the inflated Obamacare numbers and fraud within the system.
